Last weekend, on top of the already growing list of things that needed to be done to get the house ready for sale, the hot water heater broke and overflowed into the laundry room, and there was an "unfortunate incident" with some cheap boxed wine in our spare bedroom closet over our new(ish) carpet. Oh, and the morning that the plumbers came to install the new hot water heater, I get a knock on the door at 7:00am by a construction guy telling me his crew is about to rip up our street. Good times. Can I take FML for $1000, Alex? (Trebek, not my son :) )

Anyway, fast forward to today, and there's huge holes on our street and we have to park a block away. But, the good news regarding the things I actually DO have control over is that, we have a brand new hot water heater, the carpet in the spare bedroom closet has been replaced, and just about everything on the home improvement "to-do" list has been done. That included paint/wall touch ups, re-planting the garden and repairing the shudders to name a few. Hopefully after a thorough internal overall cleaning of the house, we'll be ready to put it on the market.

I don't usually post "rant-style" posts, but we just had an inordinate amount of bad things happen last weekend, and those were just some of them. But, hopefully, we're through it and can focus on selling the house and hopefully heading back home to Lakeview.
